The journal  Izvestiya of Saratov University. New Series. Series: Mathematics. Mechanics. Informatics (ISSN 1816-9791) became a separate periodical in 2005. It has been preceded by the journals: Izvestiya of Saratov University. New Series (ISSN 1814-733X) (2001-2004), Scientific Notes of Saratov State University (1923-1962), Izvestiya of Emperor Nikolay University (1910-1918).

The journal publication frequency is 4 issues a year.

Purpose and objectives of the journal
The purpose of the journal is to highlight the results of modern scientific research in the area of mathematics, mechanics and computer science, promoting the development of scientific research and educational activity.
The journal’s objectives are:
  •  Publishing original scientific papers with recent results in all the major areas of mathematics, mechanics and computer science;
  • Publishing new original research results in the areas of biomechanics, nanomechanics, machine engineering and modeling;
  •  Publishing scientific reviews within the journal themes;
  • ​ Publishing up-to-date information about the field-specific conferences and other scientific events held at Saratov State University;
  •  Publishing information on field-specific external conferences;
  • ​ Publishing articles of leading scientists in the areas of mathematics, mechanics, computer science.
Languages of publication  — Russian and English
The articles shall comply with the format and style of the journal Requirements.
All the manuscripts submitted to the editorial board complying with the journal profile are reviewed (see  Manuscript Review Procedure), upon which the editorial board makes the decision on the possibility of their publication.
Scientific reviews, articles about the leading scientists and scientific events are submitted upon the consent of the editorial board.
The editorial board does not consider the articles that:
  • ​ are only application-oriented;
  • ​ have been previously published;
  • ​ have been accepted for publication by other journals.
